Yes true love do exists , In today’s modern world ,where physical attractions are common but heart to heart connections are so rare.
It is also a rare experience to witness a true eternal love story in real as we are so used to watch them only in tv soaps or movies.
Similarly a few images of an eternal love story is making rounds on the internet. The images show an adorable elderly couple sitting together smiling . The wife is beautifully in an Assam Silk Saree adorned with gold jewellery. In one image the husband is seen combing her hair lovingly . This seems normal and might not be surprising for you as until you watch the wife carefully in every image who is although sitting with a smile and pleased expressions but she is motionless . The lady beside the husband is actually a silicone statue , a pure replica of his wife who passed away from COVID in 2021.
This rare story is from Kolkata where a 65-year-old man identified as Tapas Sandilya , a retired government employee, created a realistic statue of his wife made of silicone after losing her to covid in 2021. The realistic and lifelike statue was created with a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh and it weighs 30 kg . The statue is seated on a sofa of his wife’s favourite room of their house.
The Assam silk saree was worn by his deceased wife at her son’s wedding reception . Her husband Tapas Sandilya also ensured to beautify the statue with his wife’s favourite gold jewellery.
According to sources, apart from keeping his wife’s memory alive ,Tapas Sandilya was also fulfilling the wish of his deceased wife . Tapas Sandilya narrated about his deceased wife Indrani’s wish to have her statue after her death.
In an interview with Times of India, Tapas Sandilya narrated , “We visited the Iskcon temple in Mayapur a decade ago and could not stop admiring the lifelike statue of the order’s founder, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami. It was then Indrani had told me of her desire for a similar statue (of hers) if she happened to pass away before me.”
“My wife died on May 4, 2021, and I just wanted to fulfil her wish.”
The silicon realistic statue was created by Subimal Das, a sculptor who was well known for his silicone replicas for museums. According to reports it took him 6 months to complete the statue . The sculptor also described it to be one of his most difficult projects as it was extremely necessary to give the statue a realistic facial expression .
In order to find the perfect facial expression for the statue , both Subimal Das and Tapas Sandilya collaborated.
Tapas Sandilya was quoted as saying , “I had to work with Subimal (Das) for the clay-moulding phase as nothing less than Indrani’s actual facial expression would do for me. I, after all, lived with her for 39 years,” Sandilya said. “My wife would always get her clothes done by him and he knew the exact measurements. Everything had to be a perfect fit,” he added.
According to further reports, the decision to have his wife’s statue was not approved by some of his family members however with time they had to give in.
It is said he is often visited by his neighbours and other visitors to witness the love of Tapas Sandilya for his wife.
