Nairobi flies causing infection in East Sikkim This flies is mostly found in Jorethang south Sikkim and Majhitar East Sikkim. It is inform that 100 of students have been affected by it in Manipal, Majhitar one of the students due to infection had to undergo surgery. It is growing at rapid race at the campus of sikkim Manipal institute of Technology (SMIT) sources said.
Precautions are being taken inside the campus. Students are made aware with the situation.
“These flies are not biting. We should not touch it if it reaches our body, as it will release chemicals. It should just be gentle blown out. If it sits on hands, after blowing it, hands should be washed with shop, “ said Sonam Gyaltsen Bhutia, state information, Education and communications Officer, Health Department. These flies usually destroy crops and pests, official said.
