Construction of a ropeway is being planned by the Northeast Frontier Railway from the Kamakhya Railway Station to the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.
Aerial distance between the railway station and Kamakhya station is around 1.5 km.
As per reports, the project proposed would require Assam government’s clearance. And if it gets approval then this ropeway will be the 2nd ropeway after the the one connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati over Brahmaputra river which is also known to be the longest river ropeway in India.
