Tripura minister Sushanta Chowdhury informed on Tuesday that the Tripura cabinet gave the approval to the proposal for international flight connectivity between Tripura and Bangladesh.
He said, “ The approval for flight connectivity between MBB Airport in Agartala and Chittagong was given under the chairmanship of chief minister Manik Saha. ”
“The decision to introduce flights in Agartala-Chittagong route was made after a mutual discussion of the state government with the Civil aviation Ministry . After the consultation we were given two choices—firstly Agartala-Dhaka route secondly Agartala –Chittagong route. Finally after a thorough discussion, Agartala-Chittagong route has been finalized . The fare for per person is expected to be Rs 4500, said the Tripura minister,’ ’he further added.
“The flight services will be available from MBB Aiprort Agartala for three days a week .For initializing the flight services, the state government will spend Rs 15 crore as Viability Gap Funding (VGF)”, said the Tripura minister.
