Parshuram Kund is a Hindu Pilgrimage Sites situated on the Brahmaputra plateau in the lower reaches of the Lohit river and 21 km north of Tezu in lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh , India. Dedicated to sage Parshuram , Parshuram Kund is hugely flocked by devotees and tourists in large numbers from all over the country. Reports say that Over 70,000 devotees and sadhus take a holy dip in its water each year on the occasion of Makar Sankranti , in the month of January.
Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein on Friday visited Parshuram Kund in Lohit district to inspect the progress made under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme. The foundation stone for the Rs 37.88 crore-project under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme was laid by DoNER minister G Kishan Reddy in September, 2021.
He said that the development of the site under the PRASAD scheme will help enhance tourism, economic growth and boost employment opportunities for the local communities.
DyCm Chowna Mein also instructed the officials to expedite the work keeping close coordination with Parshuram Kund Development Trust (PKDT) and local people thereby making it a world-class tourist and pilgrimage centre.
Planning ahead he said that the Parshuram Kund mela next year will be celebrated in a grand and befitting manner.
Later at Wakro the deputy chief minister also inaugurated the newly-constructed PHED sub-divisional office and RWD office building. He also inspected the under-construction ADC office building and water treatment plant project site.
