The Northeast Frontier Railway Mazdoor Union (NFRMU) expressed deep concern over the privatisation of railways.
The annual general meeting of NFRMU was held in Dibrugarh on Sunday. During the meeting, the union’s joint general secretary Uttam Bhattacharjee addressed the concern and said that the government is conspiring to hand over public sector to corporate houses.
Bhattacharjee said, “This moment is very pivotal for our citizens since the government is conspiring to privatise every public sector to corporate house. So bearing this in mind we all have to stand in unity to protect these public properties. We are against the privatisation of railways.”
“On behalf of working-class of railways and all those who are associated with the Railways, the NF Railway Mazdoor Union under the banner of All India Railwaymen’s Union, is battling constantly for the rights” Bhattacharjee further added.
NFRMU vice-president Dibakar Barua, Treasurer Monoranjan Sarkar, Nareswar Barman and Pulock Gogoi, both AGS of NFRMU, central organising secretary Kallol Dev Sarma, among others attended the annual meeting.
