Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi greeted the teachers of the state on the occasion of Teachers’ Day ,today. Taking to Twitter he wrote-
“On Teachers’ Day, I pay my tributes to the iconic thinker and former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti. I also express my gratefulness to all the hardworking teachers for their contributions in shaping minds of the students”
“It is an occasion to pay homage & recall the role played by our teachers as nation builders. In the period of Amrit Kaal, the role of teachers has become more crucial. I would like to request them to put an extra effort to contribute to India’s journey to becoming Vishwa Guru” ,” he added.
Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was a professor at at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College ,Delhi University before entering politics. In October 1995 ,he was awarded a PhD in finance from Kurukshetra University .
Meanwhile Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also praised the role of teachers and tweeted,
“Like diligent potters, they moulded us into varied shapes – giving us life, & a purpose. Teachers are our finest creators, after God. Forever in gratitude for the values & vision they taught us; for preparing us to dream, and live our dreams. Thank you teachers,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
