A street library has been inaugurated in Sarupathar town , Golaghat district with joint initiative of Prantosh Das Foundation and the Dhansiri subdivision police administration.
As the name suggests , with an open space the street library will be an accessible from the street . Public who enjoys reading can be a part of it . During the occasion Debojit Phukan, lecturer of DR college Golaghat, Nilim Kumar, a famous poet, Partha Pratim Das, secretary of Prantosh Das Foundation were present .
Meanwhile Trinayan Bhuyan, Subdivisional Police Officer of Dhansiri Subdivision said with this initiative the youth will be encouraged to read more since the books are made available for free in the street library.
The street library will comprise a large variety of Indian books including novels, competitive exam books, children’s story books, biographies, etc. Through this initiative it aims to revive the art of reading thereby providing books and study materials easily accessible to folks.
