Popularly known as the Ambassadors of the IAF, the Suryakiran aerobatic team is ready to hit the skies of Guwahati .
An Air Show of the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) is ready for a spectacular air show to be displayed in the skies of Guwahati on September 27.
The event will take place on September 27 at 10 am at the Lachit Ghat in Assam’s Guwahati.
As per reports the team is currently at the Tezpur Air Force station and Wing Commander Rupam Bardoloi, from Guwahati is also reported to be in the squadron.
Suryakiran is basically an aerobatics demonstration team of the IAF formed in 1996 and is a part of the 52nd Squadron of the IAF.
Specialized as one of the few nine aircraft formation Aerobatic teams in the world the team is uniquely categorized .
There have been numerous performances and demonstrations by the team usually with nine aircraft. So far the team has completed more than 600 displays across India and in several foreign countries.
The team was based at Bidar Air Force Station in Karnataka and it flies nine Hawk Mk132 aircraft which is designed by British Aerospace and and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited manufactures them in India.
