It sounds cool to order your goods online starting from essentials to luxury but if you receive something completely different from what was ordered then in no time you are bound to lose your cool.
Well there is no doubt that online shopping has made our life so much easier but its also true that online shopping comes at its own risk. And now with the ongoing festive season sale people are seen flocking the online shopping websites to grab those festive deals.
Recently a man from was Bihar from Nalanda, Bihar was left utterly shocked when he got Pototoes delivered instead of a Drone camera. In a recent viral video shared on Twitter by Unseen India , it is seen how the delivery executive on demand opens the package for the customer. What came out was far from expectation. It was a “shock” moment to find potatoes instead of a brand-new drone camera inside the package .
The person recording the video prompts the delivery executive to admit that it was a fraud committed by the online retailer, however the executive while admitting also claims that he had no role in it and was unaware that of the deceived package .
According to a news report , the customer is identified as as Chetan Kumar. And he had reportedly placed the order on the online shopping site, Meesho. The customer Chetan Kumar got suspicious when the delivery executive came with the package. So upon his instruction the executive opened the package while chetan recorded it.
Earlier this kind of incidents are however not new as recently a man who ordered a laptop on Flipkart during the ‘Big Billion Day’ sale but instead he received Ghadi detergents bar . However the site has refused to get the order rectified.
The duped customer named Yashaswi Sharma who is an IIM-Ahmedabad graduate claimed about the mistake unknowingly done by his father to accept the package without being aware of the idea of “open-box” delivery. In an ‘open box ‘ eligible delivery, the delivery executive will unpack the package of your order, at the time of its delivery, and help you inspect the contents of your order. The buyer must only provide the OTP after carefully inspecting the product.
However even after several attempts to persuade the online site , Yashaswi sharma couldn’t get his order rectified.
As a last resort , Yashaswi Sharma posted the complaint to get it addressed before heading to the consumer forum. While posting He also tagged Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy in his post.
Nobody could have imagined of wasting their hard earned money to receive detergent bars instead of a laptop. Now its high time to rethink before you receive your order, all we can say “Pehle khol ke dekh le phir biswaas kare”.
