The body of Dipsikha Hazarika who went missing in the Uttarakhand Avalanche has been recovered. Dipsikha ,a young mountaineer from Assam and a resident of Rajgarh area in Guwahati was missing from Mount Draupadi Ka Danda-II in Uttarakhand since October 4 after an avalanche in the mountain.
Since the past few days , Deepshikha Hazarika, went missing along with nine other fellow climbers for.
The team of around 29 people went to participate in a training programme by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and were returning from the summit when unfortunately on Tuesday an avalanche hit the mountaineers at a height of 17,000 feet.
Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said , “A total of 19 bodies have been recovered. Efforts are being made to bring the bodies to Matli helipad by Advanced Light Helicopter today.”
The heliborne operation which was undergoing at the disaster site is currently been halted due to bad weather conditions. However it will resume depending on the weather conditions.
Dipsikha Hazarika’s father and brother have reached Uttarakhand to bring back the body which will be brought back to Assam after the postmortem.
Meanwhile , the three other bodies are yet to be recovered.
