The golden days of Doordarshan TV series still have an impact on the audience. And people are still attached to the nostalgia of watching Ramanand Sagar’s epic Ramayan with entire family and even neighbours . There were also records of people finishing up their work and in no time deserting the streets just to come home at time and watch Ramayan. Missing even one episode was considered as a terrible loss.
The Tv room used to be always crowded all because of the Epic Ramayan. Ramayan was basically a household name. The serials and tv soaps nowadays are a no match with the Epic Mythological series since these tv soaps doesn’t have such a dedicated audience and even unable to hold any emotional space among the people which shows the visible transition of the scenario “then and now” .
However people got the opportunity to revisit the good old days after Ramayan Tv series marked its reentry on Tv screen during the pandemic. Ramayan brought families together again just like the way they used to watch it on weekends in the past. Ramayan was produced by Ramanand Sagar, Subhash Sagar and Prem Sagar, Ramayan was directed by Ramanand, Anand Sagar and Moti Sagar. The role of Ram was played by Arun Govil, Sita by Deepika Chikhalia, Lakshman by Sunil Lahiri, Hanuman by late Dara Singh, and Ravan by Arvind Trivedi.
Veteran TV actress Dipika Chikhlia who portrayed Sita in the epic series is quite active on social media and she was recently seen posting a transition video on her official Instagram account . But however the post was not well received by some people who instead trolled her for the video.
It’s a matter of fact that the actress who is still loved for her mythological role has a dedicated fan base on social media . The video that she shared shows her transition from a casual look to a classy look paired with a pair of brown heels.
Although many of the users appreciated her look and style but some disliked the video and trolled the veteran actress.
The users commented on her post and pointed out basically that the way she is still perceived because of her role as Sita Maiya, she shouldn’t be posting such videos and that doesn’t suit with the persona she created back then through Ramayana.
However, earlier also Dipika Chikhlia was trolled after she tagged Pakistan’s PMO in her Independence Day tweet. The actress mistakenly tagged the wrong handle instead of Indian PMO which is why she was furiously targetted and made fun of on social media.
Although she deleted the tweet instantly, but the damage was already done as some users grabbed a screenshot of her tweet and shared it again .
Basically the charm of Ramayan series still continues .People then were so closely attached with the lead characters that the lead characters was treated with extreme respect in public no less than Gods and significantly actor Arun Govil who portrayed Lord Ram used to encounter some unexpected awkward moments when people of all ages would come and touch his feet. A recent video inside an airport went viral when the veteran actor was spotted with his family at the airport, when suddenly a woman got emotional and touched his feet and even prayed to him. Actor Arun Govil who seemed unprepared was seen gesturing to the woman’s husband who was also present on the scene to stop her.
That’s how the magic of the Epic Ramayan series works and will continue to charm forever.
