The Pamu Yalang Welfare Society recently organised a bird and butterfly walk at Ziro Valley Society in collaboration with the District Administration, NgunuZiro and Arunachal Pradesh.
With an aim to explore the short trekking route and the diverse flora and fauna, the walk event was organized. During the short trek, around 24 species of butterflies & 19 species of birds, including the brown gorgon & the water snow flat, a crested serpent eagle, & a Himalayan buzzard were sighted.
The initiative by the Pamu Yalang Welfare Society to organize such an event was highly appreciated by Bamin Nime, Deputy Commissioner, Ziro .
Dr. Tage Kanno who is a member of NgunuZiro stressed on the importance of documenting the Brown Gorgon since it is photographed for the first time in this areas and is one of the flagship species in Ziro along with Bhutan Glory and Kaiser-i-Hind.
