Images of students from Philippines wearing variety of innovative “anti-cheating hats” in different colours and shapes during college exams have gone viral on social media.
These ‘anti-cheating’ hats were used to prevent peeping on other’s answer papers during exams.
This amusing moment happened at the Bicol University College of Engineering in Legazpi City where the students were asked to design their own hats to refrain from cheating during their midterm examinations.
Mary Joy Mandane-Ortiz , the university’s faculty member of mechanical engineering had asked the students to create their own hats and wear .The students responded by customizing their hats using cardboard, egg traysand various other materials recycled .
Addressing the way as fun and creatively effective the faculty said that she was inspired from a Thai university where such technique was reportedly used in 2013. During that year an image went viral where some university students in Bangkok was seen appearing for test while wearing “ear flaps” – sheets of paper stuck to either side of their head to refrain their eyes from wandering around.
Ortiz shared the creative photos of her students wearing those hats on Facebook. The images have gained a lot of attention and laughter on social media amusing the users . Users are also loving this idea which seems good enough to carry forward .
