A “Tribal Festival” with the theme “Igniting Cultural Traditions” at Kohima was organized by the Department of Art & Culture in Nagaland on Wednesday in presence of the Advisor of Art & Culture and Tourism – Khehovi Yepthomi. The festival was held at Amphitheatre, Directorate of Art & Culture.
During the occasion, the Advisor Khehovi Yepthomi appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude towards the Department of Art & Culture for organizing the “Tribal Festival” in commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav .
He further said that with an aim to promote and preserve the rich Naga culture, the Hornbill festival, Mini Hornbill festivals, and tribal festivals were introduced by the government of Nagaland.
The advisor took to twitter and share about the festival and wrote, “Glad to attend the Tribal Festival as a special guest organized by Dept. Of Art and Culture, Nagaland at Kohima in commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. As Nagas, we must strive to protect our unique tradition & culture and pass it on to the younger generation.”

The event witnessed many cultural performances including Sunep Lemtur, recipient of the Governor’s Award (Music) 2021 who presented a special performance followed by cultural performances by the following 15 (fifteen) cultural troupes.
