A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Assam government and Bright Star Investments Pvt. Limited on Friday at Janata Bhawan in Dispur for second medical college in Guwahati .
The second medical college in Guwahati will be named as Pragjyotishpur Medical College.
During the MoU signing ceremony, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the session of the new medical college in Guwahati will start from 2024. Besides within the next five years, the state will have 24 medical colleges and following the construction work of all the medical colleges, MBBS seats will be 2,700, he added.
According to reports Bright Start Investments Pvt. Limited will invest Rs. 150 crores for the medical college.
