“I think there are no boundaries for artistes” – That’s what Ranbir Kapoor says after he was asked about his willingness to act in a Pakistani production at a panel at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah last week. Ranbir kapoor had attended the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia held between December 1 and December 10 to speak about his 15-year career.
Ranbir was also honoured by the festival with the Variety International Vanguard Actor Award. During the festival Ranbir was present at a panel, with an audience, where he was questioned about his desire to act in another industry.
A filmmaker from Pakistan in the crowd asked Ranbir whether he would be interested in working on a Pakistani film. The filmmaker added that in the last six years, Indian and Pakistani artistes have been banned from acting in each other’s industries. The filmmaker said, “Now we have a platform like Saudi Arabia where we can jointly do films, I would love to sign you for a film. Would you be willing to work with the Pakistani team along with your team in Saudi Arabia?”
To this Ranbir responded, “Of course, sir. I think there are no boundaries for artistes, especially for arts. Many congratulations to the Pakistan film industry for [The Legend Of] Maula Jatt. It is one of the biggest hits we have seen in the last few years. Of course, I would love to.”
Amid the disturbances between both the countries, in recent years there has always been controversy regarding the involvement of Pakistani artists in the Indian Film Industry.
Ranbir Kapoor and His actor wife Alia bhatt are both currently busy with their newborn,however the upcoming films of Ranbir Kapoor include an untitled film with Luv Ranjan alongwith Shraddha Kapoor and .Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga which is set for a 2023 release.
