Veteran Bollywood actress and yesteryear diva Zeenat Aman took part in Rangamancha , a mega celebration of Amateur theatre organised by Pride East Entertainments Pvt Limited. The glam queen was seen performing in the lead role in the play “Dearest Bapu, Love Kasturba” on December 23, Friday at the ITA Machkhowa, Guwahati .
Zeenat Aman was accompanied by several other Bollywood actors who were in Guwahati to perform in the Rangamancha event organised by Pride East Entertainments Private Limited.
Dearest Bapu: Love Kasturba, is an English play directed by Saif Hyder Hasan.
The glam queen and the diva of the Bollywood film industry, Zeenat Aman was seen portraying the role as Kasturba Gandhi & actor Arif Zakaria as Mahatma Gandhi in the English Play . The plot of “Dearest Bapu, Love Kasturba”, highlights on the historical journey and events of Mahatma Gandhi’s life as he transforms into the Father of the Nation, while also subtly narrating the marital woes of his relationship with Kasturba Gandhi for 60 years.
Kasturba Gandhi was Mahatma Gandhi’s companion for life in his journey as the father of the nation . The plot of the play is the relationship between Mahatma Gandhi & Kasturba Gandhi as they engage in a soul-to-soul talk with each other which includes their memories , complaints , disagreements and so on…
As per the narrative of the play , the bonding of Mahatma Gandhi & Kasturba Gandhi since decades are turned into letters which are exchanged between them . The letters narrate their journey from marriage till death while evaluating their relationship of 60 years.
It was a visual delight to watch the performance as Zeenat Aman & Arif Zakaria brought the characters back to life on stage.
