Using perfume seems to be most fast and last step to get final ready. While most of us usually spray some of it here and some there and yes… we are done. But no that’s not what you should do if you want to smell good and also to smell good for longer . So lets have a look at some pointers before you apply perfume next time.
- Usually we are quite habituated to spray our perfume in the wrists first and then rubbing both the wrists together ,but it is said that doing so might make your perfume’s top notes fade sooner even before getting settled into your skin.Because rubbing the perfumed skin leads to generate heat and eventually the scent gets changed . In order to make your perfume last longer , you first need to allow the perfume to get mixed with your natural skin. This is also the reason why the same perfume even might smell slightly different from person to person .
- Secondly you also need to focus on your pulse points. Pulse points are the areas where the veins flow close to the skin. These pulse spots emit heat, helping the to develop faster. The spots are basically the neck, wrists, inner elbows, below your belly button, behind your ear lobes, and the back of your knees. While applying perfume on these few pulse points make sure to spritz or dab it but don’t rub . This is how your fragrance will last longer .
- Instead of applying on a dry skin, first moisturize your skin and then apply perfume because the moisturizers allow the perfume oils to grasp onto which is why the scent lasts longer. But if the perfume is applied on dry skin, this leads the perfume to evaporate quickly .
- It is also suggested to apply perfume after shower . The best time is to apply it when the skin is dried off but is still warm and the pores are open. This way the perfume gets absorbed better into the skin.
- The most simple and practical tips are to keep your fragrance in a dark, cool, and dry place. This will help your favorite perfume to stay protected from heat, light, and humidity. Sunlight, heat from radiators and changes in temperature can all destroy perfume over time.
- Apart from pulse points, you can spritz a bit of perfume into your hair .but you also need to be careful because alcohol-based formulas like parfum and some eau de toilette or eau de cologne can actually make your strands dry out. Also another way is to spray your perfume onto your hairbrush rather than applying it directly in your hair .
