The Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) and Singapore-based firm Surbana Jurong signed a ‘Letter of Intent’ on Tuesday to developed the city of Guwahati.
Surbana Jurong who has expertise in developing urban infrastructure will help in this master plan to transform Guwahati into a world class city, CM Sarma said
“Due to lack of infrastructure such as cold storage etc, many of Assam’s produce are not able to reach markets where these products would be bought at attractive prices. As a result, a portion of the produce is sold at distress prices. Focusing on such infrastructure would be of immense help to farmers of the State,” the Chief Minister added.
The main focus of this agreement will be on developing infrastructure of Guwahati. This will also lead to news strength relationship between Assam and Singapore
