Pictures of a Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata with a different scenario was seen surfacing the internet recently . In the pictures a few dogs were seen inaugurating the puja mandap. This special dogs belong to the dog squad of Kolkata Police who were specially brought for special appearance as chief guests at the inauguration of Kolkata’s first pet-friendly Durga Puja.
Kolkata Police shared a post on twitter with pictures of the dogs at the Durga Puja venue , where the dogs can be seen enjoying Dugra puja, currently going on in Kolkata. The post captioned as “paw stars” read , “Paw Stars! Yesterday, 4 members of our Dog Squad – Labradors Molly & Camphor, German Shepherds Liza and Dinky-made a very special appearance as chief guests at the inauguration of Kolkata’s first pet-friendly Durga Puja, courtesy Bidhan Sarani Atlas Club. Sharing a few glimpses.”
In one of the adorable pictures the dogs can be seen bowing down to the goddess. While in another photo, two dogs can be seen looking up at the Goddess Durga idol . Since the time of this post the tweet has been well received and appreciated by people for the unique gesture by the puja organisers.
While on Facebook ,another post was shared by the Puja Organisers , Bidhan Sarani Atlas Club. In the post a video and a few images from the event are shared. As mentioned in the post the pandal was inaugurated on the auspicious day of Mahalaya, celebrated on September 25 this year. And they mentioned about the first time ever participation of Kolkata dog squad in Durga puja. The organizers thanked the four dogs and Kolkata police for being a part of the initiative.
