Ever heard or imagined a plane losing its wheels in mid air. Well this sounds to be a scary bizarre imagination. But forget imagining ,now you can actually see the scene because in a recent video a cargo plane is seen accelerating and taking off but just around 5 secs after the take off , the plane’s one of the heavy wheels was caught in smoke and in no time its falls off .
The incident happened with a Boeing 747-400 Dreamlifter , the plane lost one of its wheels within seconds after taking off. The plane was taking off from Taranto-Grottaglie Airport in southern Italy for Charleston, South Carolina before the incident . but fortunately the plane had no passengers as it was not a passenger jet, but a cargo variant of which four were ever built.
The footage of the takeoff went viral after it was shared on twitter, the video was shared with the following caption, “A Boeing 747 Dreamlifter operated by Atlas Air (N718BA) that took off from Taranto (IT) to Charleston (USA) on Tuesday morning (11OCT22) lost a main landing gear wheel during take-off. The aircraft operates flight #5Y4231 and carries Dreamliner components.” According to the page, the video was captured by La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno.

According to reports the wheel that fell off from the plane found later at a vineyard outside of the boundaries of the airport. And amid such difficulty the plane landed safely.
