If you are an active user of social media then you might have come across the recent artwork of Indian women of different states created by using Artificial Intelligence and based on stereotypes . The art has been created by Madhav Kohli, a Delhi-based artist .
Different regions of India has offered its own distinct style of art. Painting, architecture, and sculpture are the three most prevalent art forms to span India’s history .
Earlier Madhav Kohli had posted images of Indian Men from different parts of India expressing their “stereotypical” forms. And now the delhi based artist has created stereotypical artworks of Indian women.
Madhav Kohli who created the female version of his previous creation took to twitter and shared the different forms of Indian women from different parts of India based on stereotypes. He captioned his post, “Indian women, made using stereotypical descriptions and ai.”
He first posted the version of women from Delhi followed by women from several other Indian states including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Assam,Tamil Nadu, Kashmir, West Bengal, Goa, Himachal Pradesh , Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra (Mumbai), Odisha, Bengaluru, Karnataka, Haryana, Kerala, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh 2.0, Uttarakhand, Sikkim ,Tripura , Gujarat, Mizoram and so on..

The AI images have received wide attention similar to the previous posts of Madhav Kohli . Kohli shared photos of the men on Wednesday, while sharing he even put up a disclaimer that said the artworks were just based on stereotypes.

“I know these are not accurate and not everyone is like this,” he wrote while sharing the female version of AI art .
He used ‘midjourney’ to generate the artworks, including the portraits of men.
Now these AI artworks of both men and women have now gone viral on social media.
“I wanted to create these artworks to see the visual representations of those stereotypes,” said Madhav Kohli in a recent interview.
There were massive response on his posts by Twitter users who shared their thoughts on the images portrayed on the basis of stereotypes.
Although a section of users commented positively appreciating the artwork , another section of users disliked the portrayal for being too biased and unrealistic .

Another wrote, “Another enthralling construe of Indian Women using AI technology. Hard to believe it’s not a real picture. Spellbound!!”
A third user wrote – “Why UP n MP in different age groups? Girls in Bengal are not how they actually look. Girls in HP are prettier than shown. Girls of Delhi don’t have this lovely smile.”
A fourth user wrote, “The whole list is made of stereotype I know and it shows how people define beauty when it is actually so subjective. Small-sharp nose, triangle/oval face. Slim” definition of beauty in eyes of society.”
“The Goan woman looks like the Bengaluru woman went to Goa and got wasted.” wrote another user .
One more user wrote, “This AI model seems to be a big failure, it has not been trained properly and giving incorrect results. Lots of work would be required as its far away from reality.”
