Many of us might have come across through a very common situation where we probably have sent a message to a wrong group or a wrong person as well . As soon as you are quick to realize it , you make it quicker to delete it but in that hurried moment you mistakenly click the option “Delete for Me” instead of Delete for Everyone”.
The result is that the message sent by you becomes invisible to you but visible to all in the group or the specific person that you sent accidentally and still you cannot do anything about it since you yourself lost the option.
But now even if you go through the similar situation again , you can be saved from the embarrassment because of the new undo “accidental delete” feature of WhatsApp.
According to this new feature, you will find a five second window from the time you deleted a message to undo the deletion. If you delete a message , a small dialog box will pop up with the message “Message deleted for me.” The dialog box will also have a small “Undo” button. When you click on that Undo button, the message that you just deleted will reappear. So with this new feature you can reverse your accidental action .
According to whatsApp , its new offering would be available to all users on Android and iPhone. It was beta tested with some Android and iOS users in August, per a report by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo.
Earlier whatsapp introduced the “Delete for Everyone” option in 2017 which was presented to undo sending messages accidentally to individuals and groups. Initially the timing for the action was limited to 7 mins , but WhatsApp eventually extended the time limit to upto two days -12 hours-or 60 hours –in August this year .
