In a recent inter-state network of drug trafficking ,Guwahati Police seized 20 thousand of Anrex cough syrup which was being transported by truck from Punjab to Manipur.
The operation was led by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, at Nizarapar, Pacchim Boragaon under Gorchuk PS . As per police, a consignment of 20 thousand bottles of Anrex cough syrup has been seized while it was being transported by truck from Punjab to Manipur. Minimum price of the cough syrup is said to be 500/- per bottle.
Two persons who belongs to Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh were able to nab by the police. Police also arrested three accused, namely Mridul Malakar (40) of Pachim Boragaon under Garchuk Police Station; Majibur Rahman of 2 no. Larkuchi village under Mukalmua PS in Nalbari district; and Hafijur Rahman (38) of 1 no. Larkuchi village under Mukalmua PS in Nalbari district, in this connection.
Earlier on this month of July, A special team led by JCP Partha Mahanta and DSP Kalyan Pathak successfully seized 50,000 tablets and also nabbed five drug peddlers at midnight.
