Ever since Besharam Rang ,the first song from the much awaited film Pathaan featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has got released, it has attracted all sorts of attention from the audience in social media . Fans of both SRK and Deepika are extremely happy and excited to watch both of them on screen. But the Besharam Rang song equally has triggered severe criticism for being vulgar and objectionable .
And soon after #BoycottPathaan trended on Twitter. Critics and people have commented on the costume and steamy dance steps of Deepika Padukone. Recently a public threat was also being raised by Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. While speaking to media the minister tagged the Besharam song as obscene and called for rectification in the visuals of the song. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that it’s clear the scenes were shot with a “dirty mindset”.
Mr Mishra said if certain scenes in the song are not “corrected”, the government will consider what to do about the screening of the movie in Madhya Pradesh.
He objected with the “green” and “saffron” colours of the attire of the actor and said that the actress need to be “rectified” along with the lyrics of the song and also the title of the film, which will hit the screens next month.
Mishra, also alleged that Padukone has been a supporter of the “Tukde Tukde gang in the JNU case”. The minister’s statement referred to the visit of the Bollywood actor to JNU in the aftermath of the 2016 protest there, which at the time had created major controversy.
pic.twitter.com/Ekl20ClY75— Dr Narottam Mishra (Modi Ka Parivar) (@drnarottammisra) December 14, 2022
Apart from being trolled for being vulgar, Besharam Rang song seems to have triggered something else too. Previously, the song was being called Ghungroo 2.0 and now, the audience have found visible similarities in the beats of the song with the french song Makeba. People have now accused ‘Besharam Rang’ Copying ‘Makeba’ Beats.
The beat that plays in Besharam Rang sounds very similar to Jain’s french song. Released in 2016, Makeba was produced by French beatmaker Yodelice. Many of us might have heard this song in the popular Levi’s commercial. The original song was titled in reference to veteran South African vocalist and activist Miriam Makeba. Here comes the Original song:-
As soon as the flaw in the song Besharam Rang was found out, multiple users on twitter shared their thoughts:-
The moment i heard #BesharamRang i was thinking where the hell i heard this beats before, well took me a while figured that this is Makeba by Jain anyway Great work @VishalDadlani and @ShekharRavjiani
