Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme extended to all districts. Earlier which was limited to only 405 districts. This scheme flagship for women empowerment and focuses on protection right on girl child, ensuring education and improving sex ratio.
Ministry of Women and Child Development on Thursday has extended and released new guidelines for implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
According to the guidelines, the targeted improvement in the Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) by two points every year, Improvement in the percentage of institutional deliveries at 95% or above, Increasing girls’ participation in sports by encouraging them to participate in ‘Khelo India’,Increasing awareness about PC-PNDT (Pre-Conception & Pre -Natal). Diagnostic Techniques) Act 1994, Zero-budget advertising-In 2021 parliamentary committee on
empowerment of women in its report stated that nearly 80 % funds for the BBBP scheme has been used for advertising, Strengthen One-Stop Centres (OSCs) in every district.
The Ministry had further introduced Nari Adalat for providing women which take turn to resolve cases of harassment, curtailment of rights, subversion at the gram level which will be implemented in a gradual manner

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was launched in January 2015 . It main aim is to address sex selective abortion and the declining child sex ratio. The scheme has three joint initiative ministries.

According to Health Management information System data, Sex Ratio at Birth(SRB) has improved by 16 points from 918 (2014-15) to 934 (2019-20).
According to Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) provisional data, Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of girls in the schools at secondary level has improved from 77.45 (2014-15) to 81.32 (2018-19).
According to the data, this Scheme has been able to change attitude of people even in orthodox societies.
