Remember the bollywood movie Special 26 starring Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar , Manoj Bajpayee , the film shows a gang of con-men who pose as CBI and income tax officers and conduct raids to rob politicians and businessmen of their black money.The film’s plot was based on a true incident during 1980s.
Now in reality , a gang of men posing as CBI officers broke into the home of a businessman and looted Rs 30 lakh and jewellery in Kolkata .
As per reports around 8 am on Monday, a team of of 7-8 men posing as CBI officers barged into the residence of a 60-year-old Suresh Wadhwa on Rupchand Mukherjee lane in Kolkata . The con-men claimed it to be a raid .
A complaint has been filed by Wadhwa at the Bhowanipore police station.
The victim Mr Wadhwa narrated the incident as, “The men arrived in three vehicles with police stickers pasted on them. I opened the door, and they barged in, telling me they were CBI officers. When contacted, I had asked them to show their identity cards, but they did not bother,”
The victim further elaborated that the group of men who informed him about providing the “seizure list” later, took thirty lakh rupees in cash and jewelry valued at several lakh rupees.
The con men acted like true professionals who were just doing their job.
According to Wadhwa, the men prepared the seizure list at his residence and told him that they would sent it later. They even added that he would be summoned by them to their office later.
After the complaint was filed , Kolkata Police have started an investigation into the matter.
As per reports the men who came posing as CBI officers looked tall and well-built who were carrying “lathis” during the fake raid at the victim’s residence .
According to further reports , the investigators are suspecting of the involvement of Wadhwa family’s inner circle in the crime since the fake officers were fully aware of the Wadhwa household .
