The couple identified as Sachin and Athira, a Malayali couple, tied the knot on Sunday wearing the jerseys of the world cup finalist teams. The couple’s gesture has gone viral on social media , both the partners decided to show their support to the opposing teams playing the FIFA World Cup final — France and Argentina.
The groom Sachin was seen supporting Lionel Messi-led Argentina, while Athira was seen supporting the French football team featuring Mbappe. Both the bride and groom were wearing the jerseys of the teams they were cheering for during the FIFA World Cup final. Both of them wore the jerseys on top of their traditional bridal attires.

According to the BBC report, the couple tied the knot in a ceremony held in Kochi city just hours before the two teams met in Qatar’s Lusail Stadium. After completing the wedding rituals , the couple reportedly rushed and raced through their reception and feast to make their way back home to Sachin’s house in Thiruvananthapuram, 206 km away, in time to watch the spectacular FIFA World Cup final match.
