An extraordinary set up of a crying room for parents with babies has gone viral on the internet. As per reports  a government-run film theatre complex in Kerala has set up a soundproof ‘crying room’ specifically for those parents who come to watch movie with infants .The parents can watch movies without disturbing moviegoers.

The Kerala State film Development Corporation’s (KSFDC) Kairali theatre complex in Thiruvananthapuram has built a special room ‘Crying Room’ for parents with babies. If a child cries during the screening of  a movie , without worrying of creating any disturbance for movie goers , the parents can take their babies to the special soundproof room called “Crying Room” and they can keep on watching the movie from inside the room through a glass window.The crying room comprises of few seats for parents or caregivers to watch the movie.

The Crying room is equipped with a crib and a diaper-changing facility and the parents can enjoy the movie in the spacious room while taking care of the baby.

According to  VN Vasava, Kerala’s Cultural Affairs Minister, “It is very rare for parents who come to the theatre with their children to enjoy the movie. The children get upset since they are not used to darkness , sound light of the theatre and their parents are forced to leave the theatre. But now there is no need to leave the theatre if the baby cries while watching the movie. KSFDC Thiruvananthapuram Kairali Theater Complex has set up a cry room at Kairali Theatre Complex as a part of transforming government theatres into women and child-friendly theatres.”

Moreover as per further reports , KSFDC is in the process of expanding the cry rooms to more theatres.
