In the middle of the dream city Mumbai, there happens to be a popular shooting location. The location is called Mukesh Mills, Mumbai’s one of the oldest mills which has been used as a popular location for several generations of Bollywood movies.
Although it is known to be haunted but there have been more shooting of songs rather than horror scenes in this place. Right from Amitabh Bacchan –Starrer Jumma Chumma in “Hum” , Tiger shroff and Kriti Shanon starrer song-Whistle baja to Kartik Aryan and Kriti Shanon’s Poster Lagwa Do, this location was used as a shooting spot by many filmmakers for their songs .
The mill was shut down in 2019 , the owners of the Mukesh Mills was instructed to shut the compound for film shoots and other activities as several structures there have allegedly turned far too weak.
In the 1870’s, the Mukesh Mills was set up by the East India Company and it was later closed for bearing losses in the business. Moreover it is said that the building was completely burned by a fire in 1982, the source and cause still being unknown, Since then it was never repaired and has been shut.
This mill is located around 7.8km away from Mumbai central railway station the mill was the only mill in South Bombay, built on the Arabian Sea shoreline of the Colaba region. As per reports these mills were constructed by Muljibhai Madhavani ,in the 1870s. He was the owner of East African Hardware limited.
This place was generally used as a shooting location only before sunset because the movie crew preferred to work here only in daytime . Crew members have reported about hearing strange noises and also about things being lost. While some witnessed eerie shadows , sound of footsteps and some others even felt of being constantly watched.
A few years ago a film director decided to shoot a horror movie on this creepy location and started filming a horror movie. According to reports in the end , the entire crew members started witnessing several paranormal activities while working inside the mills’ area.
There was also a popular story about this haunted location where once a movie actress got possessed during the shoot and her voice completely changed. As per the story , the actress who was possessed warned the crew to get out of there as soon as possible.
Again there was also another incident of ghost possession inside the Mukesh Mills area. This time it involved a 10-year-old child who also got possessed during a shoot. The small child suddenly started rolling on the ground with hands behind her back and the scene of her acting so scared all the other children and even adults . According to the father of the possessed child his daughter returned to normal only after they drove away from the mills.
Similarly there are several instances of ghost sightings and encountering errie moments. The security of the place has also reported of seeing some ghostly figures and hearing music . But there was even no shooting on that day, but the security guard clearly saw someone smoking there inside but because of the fear he didn’t dare to go inside and check.
