Three bodybuilders Tenzing Chopel Bhutia, Bhawika Pradhan and Kalpana Chettri represented the northeastern state in the recently held 54th Asian Body Building & Physique Sports Championship, brought name and fame for their state.
As per information the Bodybuilders Association of Sikkim stated “Athlete Tenzing Chopel Bhutia bagged third position in men’s fitness model physique in 54th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sport Championship”. The Association further added “Tenzing has made India and of course his home state Sikkim proud,” said Pema WD Bhitia, general secretary of Bodybuilders’ Association of Sikkim
Again the other two Bhawika Pradhan bagged third position in junior women’s model physique. On the other hand, Kalpana Chettri secured fifth position in senior women’s model and physique sport championship. The two female athletes also brought glory to the Himalayan state of Sikkim by winning bronze medals,official said.
The 54th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sport Championship was held in Maldives. This was announced by the Bodybuilders’ Association of Sikkim.
As per information, all the three winner held from the state Sikkim.
Earlier it was announced that Indian Body Building Federation (IBBF), in association with Body Builders Association of Sikkim, is all set to organise the 11th Federation Cup National Championship at Manan Kendra, Gangtok. The championship is for men and women body building and physique sports. Body Builders Association of Sikkim (BBAS) president Kala Rai said World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports general secretary Chetan M. Pathare and IBBF general secretary Hiral Seth are in the State to inspect the preparations.“It is a privilege and honour for the State to host the 11th Federation Cup 2022 as it is for the first time that the State is hosting such a prestigious event. We have been putting in all efforts in making this event a huge success in all aspects,” said Rai.
