Ranaci Shandham , a 19-year-old and a resident of Samurou Makha Leikai in Imphal west district was crowned Miss Singju title at the Queen Contest-2022 .
The Queen Contest 2022 was held as a part of the Singju festival-2022 at Marjing Polo Complex, Heingang in Manipur’s Imphal district.
Meanwhile ,the 1st runner –up was bagged by Leibaknganbi Kharibam of Soibam Leikai, in Imphal east district and the 2nd runner-up by Raniluxmi Khuraijam of Langthabal Mantrikhong Mayai Leikai in Imphal .
Apart from winning the titles, they received a cash prize with a memento and gilts, the 1st runner-up received Rs 30,000 with a memento and gifts, and the 2nd runner-up Rs 20, 000 with mementoes and gifts.
Ranaci Shandham , the winner of Miss Singju , also received the best catwalk in the contest.
More over , the title of Best Personality and Best Discipline was awarded to Thangjam Reena Devi and Best Photogenic was awarded to Hijam Roji Devi.
The contest witnessed a participation of 12 beauties including one from Assam .
The 6th edition of Singju Festival, 2022 was held at Heingang Marijing Polo Complex, located about 8 kn north of Imphal in Imphal East District from December 28 and concluded on January 8.
The Singju Festival was organised with the theme ‘Save our indigenous food and integrity’ to promote the Manipuri ‘Singju’, an important Manipuri cuisine. Singju is a traditional spicy salad having different locally available vegetables and herbs etc.
The festival was organized by Singju Yokhatpa Lup (SYOL), Manipur, and supported by Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup, Heingang, Imphal .
During the 12 days festival, there were many events held including friendly football matches, Singju Run, a solo dance competition; painting competition; essay writing competition; voluntary blood donation camp; free eye care camp; song competition (non-professional), and Miss Singju Queen Contest were held.
The first Singju Festival was held in 2016 under Singju Yokhatpa Lup at Nungsikol Park Channa in Imphal East District .
