1. Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving British monarch, died on September 8, 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The UK’s longest-serving monarch, died after reigning for 70 years . She was 96 years old during her death.
2. After publicly expressing his wish to buy Twitter on April 14, 2022, Elon Musk took over Twitter after buying it for $44 billion (₹36,025 crore). Elon Musk owns around six companies at the moment. The latest company the billionaire acquired is the microblogging site. Ever since he took over Twitter , there were massive layoffs of Twitter employees followed by mass resignations.

On October 25, 2022 , Indian-origin PM Rishi Sunak becomes Britain’s first Indian-origin Prime Minister .It was a historic moment for the United Kingdom, which got its first ever non-white Prime Minister in Rishi Sunak, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Britain’s youngest Prime Minister in recent times. He became Britain’s third prime minister this year and the first person of colour the vowing to mend the “mistakes” of Liz Truss’s calamitous 49-day tenure.
4. Famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United on November 23, 2022 by mutual consent following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. According to a report by stylecaster.com, In the interview, Ronaldo took aim at a number of figures in the club, including boss Erik ten Hag. “I don’t have respect for him. Because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you,” he said. The intense heat wave triggered a fire spread onto the railway line in Sandy, Bedfordshire, which is on the route between Peterborough and King’s Cross. Images were shared showing the tracks turn into black after catching fire. It also showed how the train signal had melted due to the scorching heat.

On December 3, Iranian authorities said they would review a decades-old law that requires women to cover their heads, as the country struggles to quell more than two months of protests linked to the dress code, reported The Guardian. Protests began on 16 September after the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian of Kurdish origin arrested by the morality police for allegedly flouting the sharia-based law. Over the following weeks, demonstrators burned their head coverings and shouted anti-government slogans.
9. US witnessed the Blizzard of the century as called by the authorities, The extreme weather forced the cancellation of more than 15,000 flights in recent days including more than 1,700 . According to tracking site Flightaware.com., the fierce snowstorm , howling wind and sub-zero temperatures triggered the cancellation of more than 15,000 US flights in recent days, including over 3,800 on December 26 .Buffalo city was the core center of the disaster and the city got buried under massive amounts of snow.
