Have you ever wondered about what we call a person in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, etc. Many of us might be or might not be aware of such terms that really exist.
Interestingly there are different words for people in each decade of age:
- One who is between the age of 10 and 19 years is called a denarian.
- A person whose age is between twenty and twenty-nine years, inclusive; someone in his or her twenties is called a vicenarian.
- A person in their thirties, a person aged between 30 and 39 years is called a tricenarian.
- A person who is 40 years old or whose age falls between 40 and 49 is called a quadragenarian.
- A person between 50 and 59 years old is called a quinquagenarian.
- Someone whose age is in the sixties between 60 and 69 is called a sexagenarian.
- A person between 70 and 79 is called a septuagenarian.
- A person aged between 80 and 89 years is called an octogenarian.
- A person who is between 90 and 99 years old is called a nonagenarian.
