The Closing Ceremony of the Inter-Zonal Football Tournament (U-14 & U-17) 2023-24 was held in SSG on 14 Jul 23. Col Y S Parmar, SM, Principal, SSG graced the occasion as the Chief Guest The Closing Ceremony commenced at 16:00 hrs, at the Athletic Ground. A total of 10 teams i.e. 05 each in U-14 & U-17 from 05 different Zones of the country comprising 160 players participated in the tournament and proved their mettle in the field of sports in these 06 days.
The Runner-Up of the U-14 category is SS Punglwa , Nagaland, East Zone. The winner of the U-14 category is SS Tiyalya , Jharkhand, central zone. Cdt Md Farhanul Islam of SS Punglwa , Nagaland, East Zone received ‘The Best Player’s’ Trophy and Certificate for U-14 category. Cdt S R Nitesh Raj of SS Amravatinagar, Tamilnadu received ‘The Best Goalkeeper’s’ Trophy and Certificate for U-14 category.
And the Runner-Up of the U-17 category is SS Gorakhal, Uttarakhand. The winner of the U-17 category is SS Chinchip, Mizoram. Cdt Michael Lalrinchhana of SS Chinchip, Mizoram received ‘The Best Player’ Trophy and Certificate for U-17 category. Cdt Priyanshu Adhikary of SS Gorakhal, Uttarakhand received ‘The best Goalkeeper’s’ Trophy and Certificate for U-17 category.
The players and participating teams were awarded medals, certificates and trophies by the Chief Guest. Also, the team escorts and tournament referees were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Col Y S Parmar, SM, Principal, SSG. After the Closing Ceremony, the Chief Guest delivered an inspiring talk, which was attended by Inter Zonal Football Tournament teams along with the cadets and faculty of SSG.
