One married woman and four minors were rescued from human trafficking in Golaghat’s district ,Bokakhat in Assam on Friday night.
The main accused is named Rangila Karmakar, who lured the victims with cash claiming to give them jobs in different cities of the country and earn attractive amounts of money.
Rangila karmakar met an Anganwadi worker and during their conversation she mentioned the worker that she works as an agent in Rajasthan where she helps many people in finding jobs as maid across India where they are being paid a minimum of Rs. 8,000 as salary.
Rangila further mentioned that this time she is taking four girls and one married woman to get them a job.
Meanwhile, after the conversation the anganwadi worker became suspicious and called a teacher of the area and informed him about the incident and to inquire about it.
And after the crime was confirmed they along with the help of villagers successfully caught the woman. Rangila was handed over to the Bokakhat Police, however, they claimed that the accused was released soon after the arrest.
As per reports Rangila used to lure and trap the girls of poor familes with money and then take them away to other cities.
