Meenakshi Goswami, the principal of Chandranath Higher Secondary School in Sonitpur district will be honoured with the “National Awards to Teachers” for her contributions to the noble profession..
This announcement was made by the Union Ministry of Education. On the occasion of Teacher’s Day on September 5 the award will be presented to 46 teachers around India .The President of India Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the recipients at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education organizes a national ceremony on Teachers Day (September 5) and confers the awards every year to the best teachers of the country to celebrate and honour their contribution who through their dedication and commitment have improved the quality of school education and also enhanced the lives of their students.
In a press release it said, “The purpose of National Awards to Teachers is to celebrate the unique contribution of teachers in the country and to honour those teachers who through their commitment and industry have not only improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.”
The award includes a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs. 50,000/- and a silver medal.
Taking to twitter, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu congratulated Goswami and wrote, “Heartiest Congratulations to Ms. Meenakhi Goswami, Principal, CNS Higher Secondary School, Sonitpur, for being selected for the #NationalTeacherAward2022.”
