After a two-year hiatus due to COVID restrictions, the 27th edition of IIT Guwahati’s annual cultural Festival, Alcheringa, has finally arrived, kicking off on February 2nd with a grand ceremonial event attended by dignitaries like Mrs. Bandana Barthakur, CMD of Borthakur’s IAS Academy, and Prof Anamika Barua, Dean of Student Affairs, among others.
With its roots in rock culture, Alcheringa has become the torchbearer of musical nights and festivities in the Northeast region, attracting participants from all educational institutes in the region and gaining nationwide recognition over the years. This year, the Festival promises to bring together some of the most talented musicians, comedians, content creators, YouTubers, and more, with famous bands like The Yellow Diary and musicians like Vishal-Shekhar and many others gracing the stage.
The theme of this year’s Alcheringa, “Pledge to Persist,” symbolizes the courage to stand against every downfall and showcases the Festival’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity across borders. With 80+ events, 40+ competitions, pronate, pro-shows, informal activities, and the highly anticipated Creator’s Camp, this year’s Alcheringa celebrates youth and creativity.
Mr. Quasim, the Media and Outreach Head of Alcheringa, extended his heartfelt thanks to all the media representatives.
