Victor Das has been granted interim bail by the Gauhati High Court on Friday .As per reports , he was arrested for allegedly spreading rumors over the selection to the Grade III and IV posts of the Direct Recruitment examination held on August 21 and 28 across Assam .
Victor Das, a teacher at a private coaching institute in Guwahati, claimed in a tweet tagging Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Special DGP GP Singh and wrote, “Respected Sir, a huge lobby is running for the backdoor appointment of the recently held ADRE exams where people are demanding money from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs depending on the post, also a few ex-MLA is involved. Please help.”
However as reports, Police said that there was no relevant proof of the information that he had circulated over social media and no concrete evidence was received from him on the matter and this incident was misinterpreted
Meanwhile the residence of Victor Das at Dadara village in Hajo of Kamrup district was also raided by the police plus his laptop was also seized.
