Hon’ble Governor of Assam , Shri Gulab Chand Kataria , visited Air Force Station Jorhat, a premier Air Force Station in Assam on 28 Mar 23. He was received by Air Commodore Bhuvan Mathur , Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jorhat and Air Commodore Sunil Agrawal , Air Officer Commanding,
5 Air Force Hospital. Upon his arrival, Hon’ble Governor was presented with a Guard of Honour.
The Hon’ble Governor was briefed about the History of the base, its role as an interface in assisting civil authorities during various Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions and in securing the skies of the North East. The Hon’ble Governor also visited Air Force School Jorhat wherein a cultural programme was presented. While interacting with the students and teachers, he impressed upon them the importance of education and motivated the students to actively contribute to nation building.
