Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) in association with the state governments and local administration will celebrate Constitution Day on November 26 with lakhs of children in more than 410 districts of 20 states across the country .
On this occasion, children will read the Preamble to the Constitution in a coordinated programme organized in different parts of the country. Children will also be made aware of their Constitutional Rights and Fundamental Duties and their salient features as enshrined in the Constitution.
On this occasion, children will also take oath to perform the duties and work towards ensuring rights mentioned in the Constitution. Children from different private and government schools, anganwadi centres and Child Care Institutions will be involved in the programme along with children from KSCF’s Bal Mitra Grams and Bal Mitra Mandals. This programme will see whole-hearted participation of marginalised children from remote and backward areas as well including those living in tribal areas.
Apart from the state governments, promiment non-government organizations will also participate in this programme being organized by KSCF. These events will be held simultaneously in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
This programme will be celebrated to instill values of justice, equality, liberty and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution in our children and make them aware of their rights and duties. Children, who are the building blocks of India’s future, will be made aware that the unity, integrity and diversity of the country.
It is worth noting that every year on November 26, Constitution Day is celebrated in India. In the year 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, which came into effect from January 26, 1950.
