A mass protest rally was seen on friday including hundreds of students and aspirants of various competitive examinations and the public who joined the protest rally organised by the Paper Leakage Issue Committee (PLIC) of AE (Civil) from Akashdeep to the Tennis Court .
The mass rally was protesting against the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for the question paper leak in the AE (civil) exam conducted recently.
It was demanded by the protesters to terminate the APPSC chairman and secretary and arrange a fast-track investigation into the recent case of paper leak, CBI or ED probe against Taket Jerang, the controller of the examination ,who is also the prime accused.
While addressing the media, PLIC chairman Techi Puru told that the students will not appear in any exam under the present Commission members.
He said that since most of the members are already under the scanner because of the recent controversy but none of them are convicted and they are still in the commission.
He further said that they are urging the authority to terminate the Chairman and Secretary of the APPSC and also let the CBI and ED inquiry happen against all the officers of the Commission.
Jarjum Ete , the Former chairperson of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) mentioned about the state’s need of more youths like Gyamar Padung to end such corruption.
She also said that this is also not the first time case of corruption in the state civil service commission
Meanwhile Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president Toko Mina said unless corruption is removed in the commission from the roots, there will not be an end to such activities and it will continue even in future.
She also said that “The APPSC commissioner and secretary should be terminated and not suspended and both the officials need to clarify the allegation and has to ensure the aspirants of proper investigation into the matter,”
Mina further added that the trade license of the JEJU coaching centre should be cancelled if found guilty.
Regarding the matter in response to the case registered in the Itanagar police station, the police have so far arrested six people .
A committee has been set up by the state government to investigate the case and submit a report within 15 days.
