Nagaland was one among the four states including Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Haryana selected to share the best practices being followed on the sub-state indicator framework for sustainable development goals (SDGs).
According to reports the selection was made at the ‘National Workshop on Developing/ Reviewing Sub-National Level Monitoring Framework for SDGs’ organised by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) which was held at the SCOPE Convention Centre, New Delhi on 31st October.
In the national workshop, The SDG Coordination Centre team of the Planning & Coordination Department led by OSD (Planning) & SDG sustainable development goals Nodal Officer, participated.
For the Nagaland state, Nayantara Sasikumar, presented the best practices followed on developing the Sub-state Indicator Framework in Nagaland. Besides he also highlighted the data-related issues and challenges in the state.
The workshop’s agenda was to review the status of the development of state and district indicator frameworks for monitoring SDGs at sub-national levels and to orient the states/UTs for evolving monitoring mechanisms.
The national workshop was attended by officials from MoSPI, line ministries, UNDP, and official representatives from all states/UTs. Nayantara Sasikumar.
