The Ghazipur flower market in East Delhi is all set to get a facelift as the traditional market will be redeveloped into a ‘modern bazaar’ with all the state-of-the-art facilities, including multi-storeyed buildings, internal roads, shops, offices and cold storage facilities.
GHAZIPUR MARKET REVAMP
Considered one of the biggest and most popular flower markets in the country, the Ghazipur flower market will be redeveloped at an estimated cost of Rs 197 crore within a span of 30 months after a successful award of the tender.
The market, which deals in a wide range of flowers, will have a four-storeyed building with a basement, ground and three upper floors spread over an area of over 10 acres.
Under the revamp plan, the main multi-storeyed structure and parking areas will be redeveloped for loading and unloading flowers.
– Redevelopment of parking areas and internal roads, drainage system and electrification, installation and commissioning of gen sets, water supply and sanitation, sewerage, firefighting arrangements will be a part of the development project.
– The market will also get a centralised RO plant.
– LED street lights and decorative lights for beautification will be installed for beautification of the market.
