Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution arrived in Mizoram on a three-day visit to the northeastern state on Tuesday and state rural development minister Lalruatkima welcomed her at Lengpui airport
On arrival,the union minister and Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga who was heading for Delhi had a brief interaction.
The union minister visited Mizoram as directed by Prime minister Narendra Modi, she also mentioned about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s priority towards the development of the Northeastern states.
The union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti then assured that ,if approched then she will take effort to address and solve the issues faced by consumers .
Later she also paid a visit to a vegetable market located at Vaivakawn locality in the western part of Aizawl. The entire Vaivakawn vegetable market comprising of women vendors impressed the union minister .
After the project proposal is made, all efforts will be taken to renovate and upgrade the market shed at Vaivakawn ,the Union Minister said.
