Every year on June 7th, World Food Safety Day is commemorated. Its goal is to raise awareness and motivate people to take action to help avoid, detect, and control food-borne dangers, so promoting food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism, and long-term development.
After air and water, food is the third most essential component of life. It is the source of our vitality, which keeps us healthy and promotes happiness. People typically take safety for granted, but in an increasingly complicated and interwoven system, this is no longer the case.
As a result, WHO continues its efforts to mainstream food safety on the public agenda and reduce the worldwide burden of food-borne diseases through World Food Safety Day.
